Another VCES construction awarded – Water-Management Structure of the Year 2009 for Waste water treatment plant in Mladá Boleslav

All winners of Water-Management structure of the Year 2009 competition were awarded during the gala evening ceremony, which took place on Wednesday, 26 May 2010 at the Brno Exhibition Centre in occasion of The International Water-Management and Ecological Fair WATENVI and jointly with the International Fair for Investments, Finances, Real Estates and Technologies for Towns and Communities URBIS TECNOLOGIES.

The competition was realized with intention to introduce the level of water-management projects implemented in the Czech Republic from January to December 2009 to the professional and general public. Its promoters were the Water Management Associations and the Water Supply and Sewerage Association of the Czech Republic. The patronage of the competition was accepted for this year by the members of the Czech Republic Government - the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Environment.

All projects were evaluated in two categories. In category I - constructions of water supply, drainage and wastewater treatment, in Category II – constructions used for artificial impoundment, directing surface water, protection from the harmful effects of water and water regulation.

Among the investment projects of over CZK 50 million, in the category of works for water supply, drainage and wastewater treatment, VCES company received the prestigious award Water-Management Structure of the Year 2009 for Waste water treatment plant in Mladá Boleslav. The investor of the project was Vodovody a kanalizace Mladá Boleslav, a.s., the project documentation was prepared by Hydroprojekt CZ a.s. The construction was realized by the joint venture of companies VCES – Skanska.

The intensification of waste water treatment plant in Mladá Boleslav was made as part of the project Mladoboleslavsko - purification and sewerage of the waste water, which was implemented in the period 2007 - 2009. The project in the worth of CZK 521 million could be realized thanks to financial resources from the Czech government and European funds.
