Description:

The project included the reconstruction of the original building, annexes to classroom sections A and B, new construction of a gymnasium and outside parking lot. The original three storey building required extensive repairs, complete renewal of the hydro insulation, new fittings and plaster and acoustic decks. The annex to the three storey section A is partly masonry with ceilings consisting of spiral panels and partly monolithic steel-concrete skeleton. A part of the building is also an atrium with a large skylight in the roof. The annex to section B is a brick single storey building with ceilings consisting of spiral panels. The annexes have expanded the school’s capacity by 14 cabinet rooms, 19 classrooms, 10 special classrooms and a large hall with a podium. The gymnasium is equipped with modern, practical flooring and also has the following additions - a fitness, a small swimming pool and a sauna. What is also interesting is the implementation of the load-bearing roof structure which consists of seven blues wooden trusses, each weighing 6 tons and 33 m long. The outside sports facility includes a paved rest area, a fenced playfield with artificial grass, a running track and a track and landing area for the long jump. The surface of both tracks is made of tartan. The space and functionality of the entire complex is designed to allow future addition of an indoor swimming pool.
